The Proposal
On April 24th, 2003, on our 4 year anniversary; Sean Russell William Dickerson proposed! Yes, being the cheesy high school sweethearts; we had talked about what kind of proposal I would want. It seemed like a relatively normal Thursday. He came to pick me up and we headed off (at this point I had an idea that he was going to propose, but nothing solid). When we got to the car he put a blind fold on me so that I couldn’t see where we were going. Now, this might tip most people off, and it did make me think something was happening; but we had done this before so it still wasn’t solid proof. Once we arrived Sean took the blind fold off and instructed me to keep my eyes closed. We walked for a little while when finally he told me to open my eyes. There he was down on one knee with our families surrounding us! My mom and dad, sister and Michael, his mom and dad, sister and her then husband Mike with their two boys, and Lee Lee (his grandma). Shock, total shock! Yes, I had an idea, but my ideas are NEVER right! So, there in Parkville’s farmers market Sean proposed! I later found out he had picked out a fountain down town he had planned to propose in front of, but the weather wasn’t cooperating that day. It rained most of the day and by the time we left the house it was drizzling. So, at the last minute he changed it to Parkville so that we could be outside, but under shelter out of the rain. It was perfect, all I wanted was for our families to be there!
